The sixth weekly Ski Tour Clinic & Demo on Wednesday, March 8 at 7am, at Eldora Ski Resort started off after we had some warmer spring weather. Unexpectedly though, this was actually the largest clinic yet, with 17 attendees!
First timers discovered a new way to enjoy the mountain, get a workout, and a ski before work, all while being guided by expert instructions, which make the process of getting into a new sport so much easier, and learning it the right way from the start.
The intermediate skiers learnt that they’re just scratching the surface in skills and tips to progress in the sport. There is so much to learn in this sport!
I like to always change up the route as much possible within the constraints of the Eldora uphill route, which adds up to the variety and non-conformity found out in a real world backcountry setting, and which really lets me show how much finesse this sport requires.
It seems like people always enjoy the thrill of this approach, gets them hooked for more, and I’m glad others enjoy my creative approach to ski touring, even within this “artificial” environment.
At the top, we witnessed a super inversion weather phenomenon that cast thick clouds above Boulder but below the ski slopes, before skiing back down.
Ski touring is an intricate sport with lots of gear, moving parts, and every-changing weather conditions, terrain, and situations: I’m a true believer that with expert instruction and the right gear, everyone can master the sport: book your next ski touring clinic & demo!
