NEW ELDORA RACE SERIES: ’Morning Grind’

On Saturday, February 25, at Eldora Ski Resort for a special Ski Tour Clinic & Demo as part of the WinterFest ‘Uphill Experience’.

The day consisted of uphill access throughout the day (usually not allowed on weekends), a clinic & gear demo kicking off at 8:15am, skinning up to the Lookout for a free treat, then ski back down for a free beverage.

The fourth Ski Tour Clinic & Demo on Wednesday, February 8 at 7am, at Eldora Ski Resort started off with a heavy overnight snowfall, cold, and slippery driving conditions in town, which unfortunately deterred 6 of the 10 registered attendees from making the clinic & demo.

We had 10 attendees, ranging in abilities from complete novices to intermediate, join us wanting to try the sport for the first time, learn how to skin more efficiently, get exposed to some more advanced techniques like traversing, skin track skinning, and kick-turns, and demo some lightweight gear.

It was great to introduce to the sport endurance athletes who had heard about it and had been wanting to try it for a while now, and transmit some of my passion and knowledge.

We had 8 attendees, ranging in abilities from beginners to advanced, join us wanting to learn tips to progress in the sport and demo some lightweight gear to maximize their time ski touring inbounds for fitness and for racing.

It was great to witness the hype, pass on some tidbits of knowledge, and make everybody hungry for more!
